Our Story

Welcome to our "Neck of the Woods"!

We built our cabins to take advantage of the Natural Beauty of the Shenandoah Mountains. The Cabins are as close as you are legally allowed to be near the Shenandoah National Park.

We are avid Bird watchers! Every bird of the eastern woods has been spotted at one time or another around the cabins. Sightings include: Golden and Bald Eagles, Red Cockaded Woodpecker, Black Capped Chickadees, Paragon Falcons, Owls, Song birds, Vireo's and Warblers of all types! With recent sightings of Black and White Warblers, Hummingbirds and Indigo Buntings.

Wild Flowers are a big part of the area. Indian paintbrush, Ox eyed daises, trillium, Jack in the pulpit, and those Darned Yellow Composites all grow in the area. We do our best to landscape but do allow the natural splendor of mountain plant life to show through! Summers, you can find wild blackberries growing by the sides of the roads. If you are lucky blueberries and raspberries can be picked from time to time.

Our cabins are great for a romantic getaway, gatherings, or just a place to unplug and enjoy our way of preserving the pioneering spirit of early American history. We always working on ways to reduce our carbon footprint while delivering a unique mountain experience - one of our 4 locations in now Completely Clean energy!

We hope you Enjoy the Cabins as much as we do!

Our guests are saying:

“This was an adorable cabin. The host was kind and so accommodating. They truly went above and beyond to be helpful. It is the perfect weekend woods get away cabin.”

“The Chalet is a great place to relax in the woods and unwind. The host is very responsive. There is easy access to hiking trails and the town of Stanley is close, with a grocery store and a couple of restaurants. Leave behind your electronics and lose yourself in the beauty of the mountains.”

“Very secluded and private. A great place to get away from it all and be with your family. Consider hiking up the Park access road that’s a bit up the road from the chalet main entrance, it will take you directly to trails in the park and is a great time saver from driving around the mountain to get in the park.”

“Our stay at Skyline Hideaway Cabin was absolutely great. It is truly a place to get away from technology and spend time with family and nature. It's location makes it easy to get entrances of the national park. The hot tub is an excellent touch after a long day in the mountains. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to feel like they are in nature but not necessarily in a tent and lantern setting.”

“ a very quiet spot, and the open deck with hot tub were very pleasant spaces in the mornings. The large open living room makes socializing easy inside or out. The area is very peaceful and it's pretty easy to get from the cabin to the river in the valley or up to the Appalachian Trial and the Skyline Drive by hiking in past an access gate on Tanner's Ridge Road. We love taking that hike up to the Big Meadows for the Blueberry Ice Cream and the views of the Shenandoah Valley.”
